Devils Lake is an amazing lake. Since the early 90's the lake has tripled in size to nearly 140,000 acres. With the increase in size has come an abundance of new spawning habitat and a tremendous forage base of freshwater shrimp. The combination of the two has lead to an explosion in Walleye, Northern Pike, and White Bass numbers, while keeping the Perch numbers strong, and expanding the opportunities for Crappies. With North Dakota's lack of a closed fishing season, Walleyes and Northern Pike can be sought after and caught year round with April through June often being tremendous, especially for those who enjoy shore fishing.
